​North Shore Youth!​

We have an exciting opportunity to set up an amazing youth work team to support young people in Shore Junction. We are currently looking for a Youth Development Specialist. This is someone who is passionate about Youth, someone who is not afraid to stand out and put their stamp on this amazing facility.

We want to hear from experienced passionate Youth / Community Services Managers who want to establish and manage Shore Junction. You will be motivated to work alongside the steering group which includes community supporters and young people in establishing the operational set up and ongoing management. This will see young people have an opportunity to accelerate their potential through the five pillars of Community, STEM, Arts, Enterprise & Music.

Shore Junction will offer various spaces, programming and services to support innovation, learning, well-being and creativity.  Enabling young people to accelerate their potential and embark on pathways to a success future through ‘two floors of amazing’.

You will have a practical knowledge of operations management and will oversee the delivery of programmes for young people and attract volunteers and partnerships. The successful candidate will have the ability to exercise substantial independent initiative and judgement over day-to-day operations, managing youth workers and activities. This position will require the successful candidate to have sound knowledge of the local community and be responsible for maintaining effective relationships with staff, volunteers, young people, community representatives and partners.

2. Demonstrate to us your favourite pillar in  30 seconds.
3. What would you do to make Shore Junction amazing for young people and why do want to work here?

The Nitty Gritty..
​

To succeed in this role, you will also possess:
  • Experience in managing a youth / community service
  • Experience in leadership management and be a relationship builder
  • An ablity to prioritise and manage multiple tasks to achieve reporting requirements
  • Health, safety and compliance management
  • Financial Management experience 
  • A knowledge of programme development and outcome reporting systems
  • a Youth Work/Development tertiary qualification (preferably)

The successful applicant will be required to hold a current Drivers Licence and be willing to undergo a national/international police history check. Shore Junction is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
